Zillow announced a connector for Claude on October 19, 2026 that lets people search homes for sale or rent, check home values and estimate what they can afford inside Anthropic's AI assistant. Anthropic's connector page says it can "Search millions of U.S. homes and rentals with rich filters for price, home type, commute time, schools, pets, and amenities," and that no Zillow account is required.

#What changed?

"A Zillow® experience is now available in Claude through a new connector that lets people explore homes for sale or rent, check home values and estimate what they can afford within the AI assistant," Zillow said in its press release. Real Estate News reported that the connector "enables consumers to search for homes, review estimated property values and explore affordability within the Anthropic chatbot."

Anthropic's directory page lists the connector as "Anthropic verified" and made by Zillow Inc. It says users can "Get detailed property information by address, explore city and neighborhood real estate insights, access Zestimate home value estimates, and understand local market trends." It adds: "You can also calculate home affordability and monthly mortgage payments using live rates from Zillow Home Loans."

#What shows up in a chat?

"Claude can bring listings on Zillow, interactive maps, home value estimates and affordability tools into the conversation," Zillow says. "Listings include photos, prices and other information, with links to further explore properties directly on Zillow." Zillow says that "In the same conversation, people can request a tour, connect with a real estate agent or explore financing."

"This connector helps Claude users take the next step through Zillow: a tour, an agent, a loan officer," said Josh Weisberg, senior vice president of AI at Zillow, in the release. "The conversation doesn't stop with providing information, it leads to a way to make it happen."

#What happens to data?

Zillow says: "Zillow doesn't send data to Anthropic; instead, Zillow's own MLS-approved listing display appears within Claude, with the same broker and MLS attribution as on Zillow.com." Real Estate News described it more narrowly, as Zillow not sending listing data to Anthropic. Neither source covers what happens to what users type into Claude.

Anthropic's connector page carries a general caution: "Only use connectors from developers you trust. Anthropic does not control which tools developers make available and cannot verify that they will work as intended or that they won’t change." Zillow also says its AI work includes "fair housing reviews by its ethical AI team."

#Who can use it and when?

Anthropic's page describes the connector as covering "U.S. homes and rentals," and says sign-in is not required. The sources do not say which Claude plans can use the connector or whether it works outside the US.

The release is dated October 19, 2026, but Anthropic's directory page lists the connector as "Added" in "August 2026." The sources do not say whether people could use it before Zillow's announcement. None of the sources give a price for the connector.

#How to get it

Zillow's release gives these steps:

  1. Open Claude and go to "Customize."
  2. Select "Connectors" and connect Zillow.
  3. Ask for something specific, such as Zillow's example "Show me apartments for rent in Seattle under $2,500 a month."

Real Estate News reported that users can then "submit natural-language requests for homes for sale or rent using criteria such as location, price and property features."

#How does it compare?

Zillow says the Claude connector joins "existing Zillow experiences in ChatGPT and a rentals-focused experience in Gemini." Real Estate News noted that the rollout "comes just over a year after the home search giant launched an app within OpenAI's ChatGPT." #What is still unclear?

  • Plans and apps. The sources do not say which Claude plans or apps (web, desktop, mobile) support the connector.
  • First usable date. Anthropic's page says "Added" in August 2026; Zillow announced it on October 19, 2026.
  • Agent and tour routing. Neither source explains how tour and agent requests from Claude are routed.
  • Outside the US. Anthropic's page covers U.S. homes and rentals, and no source mentions other countries.
